Fury erupted after a North Carolina pastor, giving a sermon, said he absolves any rapist whose victim wore shorts because “a man is a man.”
Pastor Bobby Leonard was forced to apologize for his despicable comments and posted a message on the sign outside Bible Baptist Tabernacle Church in Monroe that read, “I was wrong.”
But it was too late. The clip quickly went viral and people called for him to resign.
Christian journalist Julie Roys wrote: ‘Yes, a man is a man, not an animal. And he is responsible for controlling himself. “This pastor needs to resign.”
In the full video, Pastor Leonard can be seen addressing the congregation, holding out his hands as he says, “if you dress like that and get raped, and I’m on the jury, he’ll go free” because “a man is a man.” .

He said: “You’ll find more women going to those places in shorts than women in pants and dresses together.”

Fury erupted online with one viewer saying: ‘Get him off the pulpit.’ This shouldn’t even be a discussion.
Another said: “That’s beyond disgusting.” Absolutely embarrassing.
Another added: “This man is clearly in senility and needs to be removed immediately for his own well-being and the well-being of his church.”
Pastor Leonard was forced to apologize, posting on a sign outside the church: “I’m sorry for any pain.” I made a mistake.’
But many were not convinced.

He adds: ‘His constant desire is to see his ENTIRE family saved and serving Christ with all his heart.’
He says he started the church more than 40 years ago.
