Western Australia’s Director of Energy Security, Saj Abdoolakhan, expressed his condolences to the 24-year-old’s family and urged people to ensure the power is off at the main breaker before entering a roof space.

“This is required by law for any worker entering the roof space of a home due to potential electrical hazards,” he said.

“While it’s not required for homeowners to turn off power at the main breaker before entering the roof space, I strongly encourage you to do so as well.”
