The Fox family completed their gold medal sweep in Paris with Noemie joining her sister Jessica as Olympic champions by winning the kayak cross.

The 27-year-old was unstoppable in the new Olympic whitewater event, winning every round before winning the four-man final on Monday at the Stade Nautique in Vaires-sur-Marne.

Fox crossed the line ahead of Frances Angele Hug and Britain’s reigning world champion Kimberley Woods won bronze.

Woods maintained the lead but struggled to clear an upstream gate near the end of the course, allowing Fox to power through.

Fox was joined in the water by Jessica, who jumped in to celebrate.

“I’m really in awe of her,” Jess told Nine.

“It’s absolutely incredible. She’s an Olympic champion. She’s an Olympic champion and she’s worked so hard for it. It’s just… oh, I’m so happy for her. I’m so happy for her.”

Reflecting on what Noemie’s win means to the family, Jess joked: “It means poor dad (Richard) is the only one without an Olympic medal!”

While Noemie has long been a world-class rower, she has never before been able to compete at an Olympic Games, as her superstar sister took the only available spot on the Australian team.

But the addition of the Splash and Dash event in Paris opened up another spot for Noemie to qualify alongside her 30-year-old sister.

After winning the slalom double, in K1 and C1, Jessica was a surprise early casualty in kayak cross, while Noemie won her heat.
