Noel Gallagher has hit back at fellow musician Robbie Williams in an ongoing row after the former Take That singer criticized Oasis ticket prices at a private event.
Speaking at last week’s launch of his new biopic, Better Man, Williams, 50, ridiculed Oasis for insisting they had no say in raising prices.
In a Mancun accent and feigning innocence, Williams said: “Oh, there’s no way we would have…”, referring to the dynamic ticket pricing.
Noel, 57, responded to the dig with his own, as he celebrated the placement of his photograph in the National Portrait Gallery: ‘Oh yeah? Well, I’m glad you gave up dynamic feeding!’
Williams spoke out last year about his eating disorders and his battle with anorexia that led him to eat a banana a day at the height of his weight struggle.
The dynamic pricing system for Oasis tour tickets caused controversy when some fans had to pay more than double the cost they expected after the tickets went on sale.
Robbie Williams lampooned the iconic British pop band at the launch of his biopic Better Man last week.
Noel Gallagher’s daughter Anais, 24, celebrated her father’s photo hanging in the National Portrait Gallery’s permanent collection on the same night he hit back at Williams for his “dynamic food”.
Noel Gallagher’s photograph will hang in the permanent collection of the National Portrait Gallery as part of a series of portraits taken by famous photographer Zoe Law.
Speaking about the shoot, Noel said: “What happened is that I agreed to do it (the shoot) through a friend of a friend. “When I got to the studio, she wouldn’t stop talking.
“Then he sent me all the contacts and I hated them all because I didn’t know I was taking pictures and chatting there.
‘I knocked them all down. That day I was in a bit of a bad mood. He hadn’t eaten all day and was a little hungry.
And years later he called me and told me that the National Portrait Gallery wanted to put this in the permanent collection.
“And I was like ‘send it to me’ and she sent it to me and I was like ‘oh, it’s fucking brilliant!’ and she said, ‘but you hated it!’
‘But it is a great honor to have it here and display it permanently.
“I was trying to explain it to my mother, who is 80 years old and Irish, and she couldn’t understand that I was going to be here forever.”
Robbie Williams took selfies with fans on the red carpet last week to celebrate his new biopic, Better Man.
The pop star is portrayed as a CGI chimpanzee in the film due to Williams’ belief that he is a monkey who performs when on stage (pictured in 2013).
The Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr was among those invited to the National Portrait Gallery to view the portrait of Noel Gallagher.
Noel’s daughter Anais, 24, and The Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr also celebrated Noel’s photo hanging in the National Portrait Gallery’s permanent collection.
Noel also claimed that he and his brother will not fight during the tour, confirming the end of their 15-year feud.
‘There will be no fights. I don’t see a situation that could arise. “We’re too old to fight,” Noel said.
According to Noel, his mother, Peggy Gallagher, “didn’t give a damn” about the brothers’ fights. “My mother never cared about anything, ever,” he said.
Speaking about how preparations for the Oasis 2025 tour are going, Noel said: “I haven’t started yet. We don’t start preparing until next May. We’re all still working on our solo careers!’
