Nintendo fans eager to wake up to the sounds of Splatoon 3’s ink splatter or Super Mario Odyssey’s coins will be able to do so with the new Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarm.
The company behind several legendary video game series such as Donkey Kong and Mario Kart announced the watch in a press release today.
He described the new product as an “interactive alarm clock designed to add a bit of Nintendo charm to your home and your daily routine.”
‘This is great! “If I’m going to wake up and start the day, it might as well be with Mario, Zelda, and friends,” one X user wrote this morning.
The watch, which some social media fans hailed as “the best thing ever,” will be available at retail stores next year, but Nintendo Switch Online members in the US and Canada can purchase it today.

The alarm starts at $99 and will be available at various retailers in 2025.
The $99 Alarm comes with sounds from five Nintendo games.
In addition to Splatoon 3 and Super Mario Odyssey, sleepers can select one of 35 scenes from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Pikmin 4, and Ring Fit Adventure.
“Wake up to the sounds of the Mushroom Kingdom with Mario and friends, start your day’s adventure with Link and Princess Zelda, or start over with the Inklings from Splatoon 3,” the company said.
Alarm owners have the option to choose which mode the alarm will be in: constant or soft.
They can also select relaxing sounds and music to help them fall asleep for a nap during the day or going to bed at night.
Since the announcement, X users have been excited about the Alarm’s features despite its “annoying sounds.”
‘Finally an alarm clock that makes me angry in the morning as if it were Mario Kart’, X user tweeted.
Another Nintendo fan wrote: “I love him even though I know I will despite every noise he makes in the morning.”
Alarmo owners can enjoy waking up to the sounds of five Nintendo games, including Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
Social media users were ecstatic to hear about the Alarm despite the ‘annoying noises’ it will make in the morning.
Several X users have already ordered their Alarms and have praised Nintendo for their ‘lifestyle products.’
‘I can imagine different models of this in different colors. Or even one of Pikachu with ears’, a tweeter wrote regarding the clock.
Another user wrote: ‘The price is high, but I’m honestly considering this just so I can wake up and see Zelda yelling at me.
‘The Nintendo Alarm wakes me up and then I go straight to the Xbox toaster for breakfast! Thank you very much @NintendoAmerica.”

Several X users believe the Alarm will successfully wake them up in the morning, and more than one person claimed to have booked one.
Other X users weren’t as enthused about the alarm clock and how Nintendo created what they called a ‘special form of torture.’
‘Every time I hear my alarm go off, even when I’m awake, I get irritated and get a wave of anxiety. “I don’t think I want to associate Nintendo sounds with that,” tweeted one X user.
Some Nintendo fans were especially angered by the Alarm’s “laughable” price and insisted they would not purchase the watch for that reason.
‘Okay, I’m saying this in the most respectful way. Nobody cares about this. $100 for a watch that requires an NSO subscription to even purchase is crazy,’ an X user wrote.
One angry X user wrote: ‘Are they really charging $100 plus a Nintendo Online subscription for an alarm clock!? Who thought it was a good idea?
The high price of the alarm clock that a user believes will rise to ‘$500 each on eBay‘ isn’t the only thing that upset Nintendo fans.
Several X users also showed frustration with the announcement in general after believing that Nintendo would announce the arrival of the Switch 2.
Some Nintendo fans were upset by the price of the watches, but also frustrated to see that the company’s announcement did not refer to the Switch 2.
‘Nintendo revealed an alarm clock before the Switch 2 LMAO’, an X user wrote.
‘The Switch 2 is nothing like what I imagined and here I thought it was going to be a games console,’ another X user wrote this morning.
Some gaming enthusiasts mistakenly assumed that the Alarm was some kind of “fake April Fool’s Day product.”
‘This trailer sounds like an April Fool’s Day Nintendo ad,’ an X user tweeted.
‘I love those interesting little critters over there. This is so random.’
