Former child star Nikki Webster has detailed her journey to overcome domestic violence and the heartbreaking reason she is single.
During Friday morning’s Kyle & Jackie O show, the 37-year-old singer opened up about her personal life in a candid chat, explaining that she’s been out of a relationship for “many years.”
Webster ended her marriage to husband Matthew McMah in 2018.
“It’s a long story. Unfortunately, it’s not a very happy story,” she told presenters Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson, adding that she’s “been through a pretty tough few years.”
“I come from a pretty bad background, with domestic violence and all that stuff,” Webster added.
“I’m just happy to be on the other side of all this, and, you know, when I’ve just been focusing on life and the kids.”
Sandilands was surprised because he seemed unaware of Webster’s past experience of domestic violence, which made headlines in 2019.
“That’s nonsense. Where was the world’s media when that was happening?” he asked.

“I think it’s more of a private matter and just making sure everyone is okay,” Webster said.
“Are you okay? And you’re okay now?” Sandilands asked.
Webster said she’s doing “really well” and is focusing on her two children rather than looking for love.
