Nikki Bella wants a ‘really big’ wedding when the COVID-19 pandemic is over.
The 37-year-old retired professional wrestler has been engaged to Artem Chigvintsev since 2019, but they have been forced to postpone their wedding due to the ongoing health crisis.
The couple welcomed their first son, Matteo, last July.
While members of Nikki’s family insist that she “do something small” for those closest to her so she can get married in the near future, the “Total Bellas” star wants to wait until she has the wedding of her dreams can have.
She said, ‘My grandma says, ‘Just go and do something small,’ but I want a really big bash, and I want to do it right. I want it to be a fun experience and a journey, where it’s just really fun. Maybe we’ll make trips to New York for dresses!
“I feel like if I did it now, and tried to get the trap I want now, it would just be full. It wouldn’t be fun, it would just be to make it happen. So from now on we have no plans, not a day.’
Nikki and Artem haven’t even started planning their big day yet, but are hoping to tie the knot this fall this fall.
Speaking to “Entertainment Tonight,” Nikki added, “So Artem and I were sitting on the couch the other day and we were talking about this. I was like, ‘Do you want to start planning now?’ We would love it if it was in the fall and some of the locations said, ‘We’re available.’
“And what we’ve just started to say is that we’re so busy every day and we’ve completely remodeled the inside of our house. We haven’t even lived in it yet and we’re doing the outside and that takes so much work. We’re not even done designing yet. And so he and I were both like, ‘Let’s go around the house. If it happens, it happens.”
