The operation took place late last month, and Brie said, “We are so glad she has a lamp at the end of the tunnel.”
Brie also delved into the details of her mother’s symptoms, revealing that “most of her face was paralyzed” until she thought she had Bell’s palsy.
But when Kathy woke up “extremely dizzy” one morning and couldn’t feel her “whole face” or taste food, her husband John took her to the hospital.
There, doctors discovered the mass of blueberries, which, according to Nikki, ‘protruded from her brainstem and started to hit the nerves. It grew quickly. ‘
Looking ahead: the surgery took place late last month and Brie said, ‘We’re just so happy she has a lamp at the end of the tunnel.’
Although the doctors considered delaying surgery because of the COVID-19 pandemic, they decided to continue because the mass was in a “fatal spot.”
Brie revealed on the podcast, “My mom is actually so lucky to see the symptoms on her face because if she had no symptoms and walked around with it, it could have been fatal along the way.”
Although the surgery was estimated to take four to six hours, Nikki revealed, “At the seventh hour, we hadn’t heard from any of the doctors.”
