A woman has been charged with the murder of her ex-boyfriend at a Sydney home.

Nikita Kirby was arrested near her home in Matraville, in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, on Tuesday night after emergency services were called about 6.15pm.

Moments earlier her ex-boyfriend Scott Wallace, 37, had been found suffering from injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Kirby, 31, was charged with murder (domestic violence) on Wednesday. He was refused bail and will face Waverley Local Court on Thursday.

On Wednesday morning, the single-storey brick house remained a crime scene with officers from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command and the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad, as well as forensic police investigating. .

Residents of Murrabin Avenue told Daily Mail Australia they saw a woman running up and down the cul-de-sac after the stabbing.

“She was running down the street screaming,” one resident said.

“It’s a quiet, family-friendly street, we’re surprised this happened on our doorstep.”

A local business owner said he had seen the couple arguing outside the Matraville Hotel earlier that afternoon.

In 2021, police filed an AVO in the New South Wales Local Court against Wallace, for the protection of Kirby. That AVO lasted two years and ended last October.
