In February Nike announced that it was cooperating with the League of Legends Pro League in China will be the official clothing provider for all 16 clubs in the competition. Today the company was finally unveiled exactly what those sweaters will look like. Starting next year, each team will wear an almost identical set, with a standardized jersey design with a one-button collar and a chevron on the chest. The unique aspects come in the form of color and details.
For reigning world champion Invictus Gaming, the white jerseys of the team have a chevron designed to resemble angel wings, along with a single gold star above their team logo, indicating the world's victory. (The IG angel wings are similar to those of the team in-game skins.) Meanwhile, the kits for Fun Plus Phoenix, which have just won the LPL summer championship over the weekend, have a bright red feather pattern on the chevron, while RNG & # 39; s are dominated by golden dragon scales.
All three teams will debut the jerseys during the 2019 League of Legends World championships, starting on October 2, while the rest of the LPL will wear them during the 2020 season. You can view some of the designs in the gallery below.
This type of standardized jersey design is not unique to the LPL – Blizzard & # 39; s Overwatch League has something similar – but the new Nike jerseys are easily some of the best in e-sports, which is not a space that is best known for its sense of style, with a few notable exceptions.
The collaboration between Nike and the LPL goes further than just the shirts. Nike also unveiled a new one LOLthematic clothing collection and the company recently posted a message on its Weibo account a video that shows that LPL players visit Nike's headquarters to do a series of performance tests that have helped clothing design.
The new Nike uniforms are available from October 1.
