A former federal representative shared a disturbing video of being sexually harassed while out with friends.

Former Liberal politician Nicolle Flint began filming the bizarre exchange after a man propositioned her and a group of women on an Adelaide tram platform on Tuesday night.

Holding a half-empty bottle of alcohol, the man appeared to slur his words as he rambled and swayed as he approached the women.

‘I want to make love to you. Are you single?’ he asked Mrs. Flint.

She took to Instagram hours later to call out the behavior.

“I’m posting this to show what women endure on public transportation,” she wrote.

‘He approached us drinking his alcoholic drink while banging an empty glass bottle against the tram stop.

“(I) was wondering if he was going to crush him and attack us.”

Flint described how the man sexually harassed her and a group of friends.

While it wasn’t caught on camera, Flint said he told the man what he thought.

“I stood up and told him to go to hell and stop harassing women,” he recalled.

He thanked an off-duty police officer who came to the women’s rescue.

‘Many thanks to the lovely man who had just finished his shift at SAPOL HQ, who came onto the platform and saw this part of the interaction, came and sat next to me to make sure I was okay and stayed with me until the tram arrived and “He helped me report this to SAPOL,” Mrs Flint wrote.

Ms Flint will again contest her old Boothby seat at the next federal election.

She cited sexism in Australian politics as a reason for not running in the 2022 election.

Flint’s Instagram followers commiserated with her after the shocking sexual harassment incident.

“It is absolutely unacceptable that I am so angry that this is happening,” one woman wrote.

Another added: ‘Just horrible. It’s no wonder that women sometimes feel insecure. “I have the SAPOL number saved after having to report a guy touching me from behind in the shopping center in broad daylight last year,” another woman wrote.

“That’s” embarrassing. I guess the only positive “if any” was that he wasn’t aggressive. But that’s no excuse for that kind of behavior,” wrote one male follower.

So he thanked Mrs. Flint for drawing attention to the man’s behavior.

“Imagine something like this happening to a group of teenagers in the middle of the day,” one wrote.

‘Why do grown men think it’s appropriate to approach young women in public?’ It’s not! It makes them feel scared and insecure. Welcome to my daughter’s life. Thanks for highlighting this Nicole.’
