Nicole Kidman has offered firm advice to her teenage daughter after she was branded a ‘nepo-baby’ and savagely attacked on her catwalk debut.
Sunday Rose Kidman-Urban, 16, opened the Miu Miu Paris Womenswear Spring-Summer 2025 show during Paris Fashion Week, strutting down the runway in a sleeveless white dress alongside stars Hilary Swank and Cara Delevingne.
But she was met with an avalanche of spiteful comments suggesting she look for a new career, as people pointed out that she was the daughter of Kidman, 57, and country singer Keith Urban, 56.
Kidman, who found fame in her teens, is upset by the abuse leveled at her daughter, whom she has warned to avoid social media.
“Nicole was the same age as Sunday when she got her first acting role and was then told to try something else,” a source told DailyMail.com.

Sunday Rose, 16, received a barrage of spiteful comments suggesting she find a new career after opening the Miu Miu Paris Womenswear Spring/Summer 2025 show.
‘Nicole faced “no” without having famous parents to kick her out the door, so she understands the criticism, but it also bothers her because she remembers the hell she went through when she started.
“Ultimately, Nicole and Keith are very proud of her and are letting her forge her own path.”
They continued: ‘The advice she gave her daughter was the same advice she gives herself: don’t read social media. “She will support her in whatever path she chooses.”
Sunday Rose’s catwalk ‘stomp’ went viral on TikTok, with commenters criticizing her style.
“I can hear her heels hitting the floor,” one user criticized, while another wrote: “She’s trying so hard to look fierce but she looks like a petulant little girl stomping around.”
A third added: “Looks like he’s walking to his WWE match.”
Others suggested she forget about modeling and forge a new career.
‘Try painting or acting instead. This isn’t for her,’ one suggested, while another pleaded: ‘Oh please, why be a model with so many other things to do?’

Kidman, 57, can certainly relate to the backlash against her daughter being told she was “too tall” when she was 17 and trying to break into Hollywood (pictured in 1983).
Unsurprisingly, her famous parents were dragged into the criticism, with many claiming that her inclusion on the runway was unfair to those who are not given the same opportunity.
One wrote: ‘Stop hiring average looking nepo babies who can’t walk!’
A second said: “This is unfair to girls who don’t have famous parents.” This girl is not a model.
Sunday-Rose wasn’t the only nepo baby on the catwalk.
Model Amelia Gray Hamlin, daughter of Harry Hamlin and Lisa Rinna, and Eliot Sumner, whose parents are Sting and Trudy Styler, also modeled.
Kidman, 57, was not present for her daughter’s historic moment, but she did join her at a Miu Miu dinner after the runway.
She also shared a photo of the aspiring model on her Instagram with heart emojis.
Sunday Rose had been waiting a long time for the opportunity to walk on a catwalk.
Speaking to Vogue ahead of the October 1 event, she said: “I’ve wanted to do this for so long that when the offer came it was really exciting.” And now the day has finally arrived.
She said she was “stressed” but said everyone behind the scenes was “very nice.”

Kidman, 57, previously opened up about how she tries to limit her daughters Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret’s, 13, use of social media in a bid to protect their self-esteem.
“Hopefully we can help her balance everything through all of this,” the Australian singer said. ‘Hopefully he will benefit from having two parents who know a certain amount of celebrities.
“Everything is a challenge…Keeping her steady with schoolwork and structure and everything balanced in place is the key.”
Kidman and Urban, who have been married since 2006, also share daughter Faith Margaret, 13, whom they welcomed through a surrogate.
The Perfect Couple actress previously opened up about how she tries to limit her children’s use of social media in a bid to protect their self-esteem.
‘I’m not going to let them be on Instagram,’ she told Loose Women in 2020. ‘Right now I’ve got a 12-year-old who’s anxious and wants to get into all that. It’s just that constant pushing, pulling. I would say many parents would say the same.
“I think it’s keeping their confidence and self-esteem intact.”
Kidman also adopted her children Isabella, 27, and Connor, 25, with ex-husband Tom Cruise.
