Nicole Kidman made the tearful admission at the Special Ops: Lioness season two premiere in Los Angeles on Wednesday.
The Australian actress, 57, became emotional when speaking about the recent death of her mother Janelle and acknowledged how difficult the time of grieving had been.

Kidman’s mother, Janelle, died last month at age 84.
The Oscar-winning star also showed off her shocking weight loss on the red carpet, putting on a daring display as she modeled a backless cowl-neck top and a bright yellow midi skirt with whimsical and dramatic pleats.
The look showed off her very slender figure, including her torso and arms.
Paired with her stylish outfit, Kidman was dripping with diamonds in the form of stunning Roberto Coin jewelry.

She brought a black blazer coat, which she was occasionally seen carrying in her hand while posing on the red carpet.
Janelle died just hours before Nicole received the Best Actress award for her role in Babygirl on the final day of the Venice Film Festival.
“Today I arrived in Venice and shortly after found out that my beautiful and brave mother Janelle Ann Kidman has just passed away,” Nicole revealed in a statement read by director Halina Reijn following her victory.
‘I’m shocked and I have to go to my family, but this award is for her, she formed me, guided me and made me.

Nicole put on a daring display as she modeled a backless cowl-neck top and a bright yellow midi skirt with extravagant and dramatic pleats.

A week later, Nicole broke her silence and made a heartbreaking statement on Instagram alongside several never-before-seen photos of the matriarch.
In her post, the Perfect Couple star thanked her millions of fans and followers for expressing their condolences during her time of grieving.
“My sister and I, along with our family, want to thank you for the outpouring of love and kindness we have felt this week,” Nicole wrote in the joint statement.
‘Every message we have received from those who loved and admired our Mother has meant more to us than we will ever be able to express. Thank you from our entire family for respecting our privacy while we take care of each other.’
Nicole has long had an incredibly close relationship with her beloved mother Janelle and has often spoken about her support and influence on her career over the years.
Nicole was born in Honolulu and raised in Sydney by Janelle and her psychologist father Antony, who died in September 2014.
After spending time in America, the Moulin Rouge star and her younger sister Antonia spent much of their childhood in Sydney.
Nicole pursued her passion for acting as a teenager and her parents supported her as she rose to global fame.

They both remained closely involved with her career over the years, and Nicole often admitted that she would still turn to her mother for advice.
Nicole had a similarly close relationship with her father Antony and was devastated when he died of a heart attack in September 2014 at the age of 75.
The Oscar-winning actress previously revealed that her father’s “sudden” death, as well as a series of other losses, had affected her deeply.
‘They gave me death as something very sudden. “I haven’t cared for anyone through a slow death, I’ve just had people taken away,” he told the Sydney Morning Herald in 2020.
‘It’s happened to me repeatedly, I’m almost afraid to say it because I’m terrified it will happen again. “I’m still very afraid of that.”
