Nicole Kidman’s hopes of mending her estranged relationship with son Connor Cruise appear to be in tatters.
According New IdeaThe actress now fears she has lost him forever to Scientology and any chance of reconciliation between the 57-year-old actress and her 29-year-old son seems unlikely.
The heartbreaking revelation comes after Connor recently revealed a new tattoo signifying his unwavering commitment to the controversial religion.
“Nicole’s grief for her son is very real and extremely painful,” a source told New Idea.
“But seeing Connor double down on his devotion to Scientology with a permanent tattoo on his body will be hard for her to accept.”
The tattoo in question, which reads “1938” and is inked on Connor’s arm, is believed to be a reference to the first mention of Scientology by its founder, L. Ron Hubbard.
Sources claim the new tattoo means Connor is “some sort of ‘prince’ of Scientology,” indicating his rise within the ranks of the church, a development that deeply concerns Nicole.
Connor and his sister Isabella have remained devout Scientologists since their parents’ highly publicized separation in 2001.

According to New Idea, the actress now fears she has lost him forever to Scientology. Any chance of reconciliation between Nicole, 57, and her 29-year-old son seems increasingly unlikely.
The brothers have kept a notable distance from their mother, supposedly due to her status as a “repressive person” within the church.
“Nicole knows that Connor and Bella are wrapped up in their father’s religion and will always respect that,” the source added.
“She had hoped that they would grow out of it when they were older or at least given a chance to explain themselves. However, if Connor is destined for a high-level position in the organization, Nicole knows she’s probably lost him forever.”

Nicole has said in the past that she prefers to keep her relationship with her children private.
Tom and Connor have occasionally been spotted attending sporting events together.
Connor has three younger half-sisters.

When he’s not fishing, Connor spends his time as a food influencer on Instagram. His account, Connor’s Meatshack, features snaps of his grilling exploits.
Nicole is also mom to Sunday, 16, and Faith, 14, whom she shares with husband Keith Urban, 56.
Tom shares daughter Suri, 18, with ex-wife Katie Holmes, 45.
