Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman are at odds over which country to call home.
Keith, 56, has lived in Nashville since 2007 and is eager to return to the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles, according to New idea.
A source close to the show claimed that Keith, who has battled drug and alcohol addiction in the past, is concerned that he is no longer one of the “hot kids in country music” in Nashville, and sees diving headfirst into the country music scene in Los Angeles as a great way to stay out of trouble.
“One of Keith’s keys to staying clean and sober is staying busy,” the source said.
They added that Keith is “making noise in his circle that he wants to work more in Los Angeles if he can.”
The couple shelled out around $7 million in 2008 for their Los Angeles pad: a five-bedroom, five-bathroom contemporary mansion in the exclusive Hidden Valley enclave of Los Angeles.
However, the publication also claimed that Keith’s dreams of Los Angeles are at odds with those of Nicole, 57, who is “determined” to return Down Under with Keith and their children Sunday Rose, 16, and Faith Margaret, 13.
“It’s public knowledge that she has been determined to return home for a long time,” the source said.

Nicole’s desire to return Down Under could be to be closer to her mother, Janelle, who has been experiencing health issues since being hospitalized for heart problems in 2016.
“I would love to be able to have a cup of tea with mum and sit on the balcony and talk about life and have her tell me what I should be doing,” she told the The Sydney Morning Herald in 2020.
In an interview with the Fresh Air podcast in 2022, the actress also briefly spoke about her mother’s health issues.
She said they managed to visit the Art Gallery of New South Wales after hours, where they saw the Matisse: Life and Spirit exhibition, describing it as a “soothing balm”.
“We’re here primarily to take care of my mother and have her surrounded by her grandchildren,” he said at the time.
“Luckily, yesterday, even though Omicron is wreaking havoc on this country, we were able to take her to the gallery after hours and show her the Matisse exhibit, which, coming from a mother who raised me in the art world, was a comforting balm. Matisse was a comforting balm last night.”

Nicole and Keith own six apartments in the Latitude building in Sydney’s Milson’s Point, racking up more than $27.5 million in purchases in one building alone.

The family could also choose to get away from it all at Nicole and Keith’s sprawling Bunya Hill estate in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales.
Set in the picturesque Sutton Forest, the 45-hectare Black Angus cattle farm was formerly home to New South Wales Governor Lord Augustus Loftus and cost Nicole and Keith $6.5 million in 2008.
