Nicolas Cage, 59, was hard to identify with a lot of makeup and a bald spot via a first image from his upcoming film, Dream Scenario, which was shared on the A24 Instagram page.
The National Treasure star’s Dream Scenario character appeared to be bald, sporting a silver-gray beard and thin glasses.
She was layered in the photo, wearing an oversized parka with a furry hood over a burnt orange sweater.
The photo includes a shot in the background of an SUV with the word ‘LOSER’ emblazoned on the passenger side.
Although they weren’t in the preview picture with him, Julianne Nicholson and Michael Cera co-star with Nicolas in the yet-to-be-released film A24.

Man of Action: The Sympathy For The Devil star typically sports a beard, goatee and thick brown hair in his movies.
The film, which has been teased as a comedy, will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2023.
The release date of Dream Scenario for the general public has not yet been confirmed.
An overview synopsis for Dream Scenario depicts the character of Nicolás as a bored professor who suddenly becomes the big man on campus after appearing in everyone’s dreams.
A statement from Robyn Citizen, director, programming and platform lead at TIFF, revealed that the Dream Scenario explores the ramifications of going viral and cancel culture, according to the hollywood reporter.
“This surreal satirical comedy has sharp and timely observations on social media culture, especially how it goes viral, and its impact on the way we interact with others in our everyday lives,” Robyn explained.
They also added that “Cage delivers some of his best work” in the film.
Dream Scenario also features To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before star Noah Centineo and Mean Girls comedian Tim Meadows.
The film will be the opening film on the list of films competing for awards at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Dream Scenario isn’t the only film project in the works for The Croods star.
The hard-working actor will appear in five other films that are currently in post-production.
Among his upcoming film projects is a film titled Arcadian, which is described as a thriller in which, “A father and his teenage twin sons (are) trying to survive vicious creatures attacking their remote farm,” according to IMDB.
Nicolas Cage’s other film projects yet to be released include Lords of War, Longlegs, The Retirement Plan, and The Surfer.
Dream Scenario will make its world debut this September at the Toronto International Film Festival.
