Dortmund defender Nico Schlotterbeck suffered a nasty fall while celebrating the club reaching the Champions League final, but luckily the German appeared to emerge unscathed as he laughed off the fall.

The Bundesliga side toasted a famous victory over PSG, securing a 2-0 aggregate victory over two legs as the brilliant team kept clean sheets home and away before being seen dancing around the pitch after booking their place in the final at Wembley in June.

Players were seen jumping up and down on a podium towards the edge of the field and an excited Schlotterbeck was seen approaching his teammates as he tried to join them.

But when the 24-year-old tried to jump onto the block to get involved in the celebrations, he lost his balance and slipped, falling awkwardly as he reached the podium before landing on his back.

Schlotterbeck initially appeared to be in pain before bending his knees and was helped to his feet by teammate and former Liverpool star Emre Can.

The player then laughed and signaled that he was fine before raising his arms towards the delirious fans.

Schlotterbeck played the full 90 minutes at the Parc des Princes and put in an excellent performance as he helped keep a clean sheet for his team and became a key part of keeping Kylian Mbappé and company calm.

The defender has been a big part of Dortmund’s season, starting 30 Bundesliga games – plus ten more in the Champions League – and scoring two goals.

His team has had a disappointing year in the Bundesliga, currently sitting in fifth place and fighting to earn a place in the Champions League next season. They are three points behind fourth-placed RB Leipzig.

However, for now they won’t care about their problems in the league after their incredible run to the final.

The crazy celebrations continued in the dressing room, led by Man United flop Jadon Sancho, who has become a reborn player in Germany.

In a video shared on Instagram by the official Borsussia Dortmund account, Sancho can be seen carrying a large speaker while the rest of the team watches, singing Someone Like You by Adele.

The team is at capacity, some are too tired to stand up and others take a breather and have various snacks.

The video then cuts and Sancho can be seen climbing onto the table in the middle of the room, with the speaker still in his hand and his phone in the other.

He can regularly be seen walking around the table, hugging his teammates and reaching for the sky as he continues singing Adele’s hit.

The 24-year-old’s current teammates can be seen laughing and filming Sancho’s antics as they see the funny side of the midfielder’s performance.

After the match, coach Edin Terzic praised his team’s “incredible” run to the final as the underdogs.

“The faith in the final was already present from the beginning. We talked about it for the first time before the first leg in Eindhoven. The faces seemed a little bewildered when I said that the road to London is short.

‘It will still take us a little time to understand it, but the joy is already enormous. We have grown with each game. At some point we beat Milan, who were in the semi-finals last year. And when you eliminate a semi-finalist, it can work for us too.

‘We wanted to be the team that people don’t necessarily have on their radar. The journey has been incredible.”
