Nicki Minaj was briefly arrested before being fined at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport on Saturday over allegations that “soft drugs” were found in her luggage.
The Dutch national police agency shared an update on social media that a 41-year-old American woman was released after consulting with local prosecutors. CBS News reported.
Dutch police did not name Nicki in the post, but it was not necessary since she broadcast the entire incident on Instagram Live.
In the video, she explained that the police told her that they had found marijuana in her bags and that it would need to be weighed.
At the time he was traveling from Amsterdam to Manchester for his upcoming Pink Friday 2 Tour show. Saturday night’s concert was canceled at the last minute as a result of his brief detention.

In the recording, a man explained that he would “find a lawyer in the office” and that they would go “as quickly as possible.”
During the Instagram Live, the Anaconda singer said she was told “to get in this (police) van and go into the police station without any attorney present.”
Additionally, he alleged that someone working for airport security asked him to make a “statement without any attorney present” after finding “pre-rolls” in “bags they were not authorized to carry.”
It is currently unclear if she was booked into a police station.
A spokesperson for the Netherlands police confirmed to NBC News that ‘a 41-year-old American woman was arrested at Schiphol airport for possession of soft drugs’.
They did not identify Minaj or anyone else by name as the arrested person.
Before the alleged arrest, Minaj shared a series of posts on X (formerly known as Twitter), about having her suitcases taken for a thorough airport search.
“They’ve been trying everything they can to TRY to stop this tour,” he wrote in a tweet, before theorizing that they were trying to “plant things” in his luggage.

Nicki filmed herself apparently being arrested for allegedly “carrying drugs” while traveling from Amsterdam to Manchester for her upcoming show.
Additionally, she shared images on her Instagram of a man telling her that the police needed to take a closer look at her luggage.
In the clip, an airline crew member told him that a “police officer told him” that they “had to unload all the luggage and search everything.”
“I’m very sorry to say that,” he continued.
She then asked: ‘But wasn’t that what you planned to do from the beginning? Why didn’t they search him before getting on the plane?
“They just did a quick random check, but now they want to open it,” he insisted.
After she asked him why, he said, ‘First of all, because you filmed it… (and)… he doesn’t believe you that you don’t have more to you than you say.’
“No, he asked me, ‘Do I have more in those bags?’ and I said, ‘No,’ and I asked him where my bags are,” the rapper said. “They took my bags and put them on the plane before I even knew what bags were on the plane.”
The airline crew member simply said he was “very sorry.”
“Okay, of course,” he said before the video ended.
In Minaj’s caption, she wrote “they took my bags before I could see them” and then “put them on the plane.”

However, problems he encountered at the airport in Holland caused him to miss that night’s concert in the United Kingdom.
After arriving in Manchester, he released a statement to X apologizing to fans for not appearing on stage that night.

The Bang Bang hitmaker promised her fans that “we will have another date for tonight’s show shortly and I will probably be able to share it tomorrow.” A July option and a June option are currently being discussed.
