Nicki Minaj says sorry for canceling New Orleans concert hours before show: ‘Please accept my sincerest apologies’

Nicki Minaj appeared on social media Tuesday night to apologize to fans for canceling her New Orleans tour.

In an Instagram Story shared with her 229 million followers, she wrote: “New Orleans, please accept my deepest apologies for having to postpone our date together.”

The 41-year-old rapper – who brought out Tyga during a recent performance – was forced to postpone Monday’s show just hours before it was set to begin due to illness.

She added in her apology, which was a reposted screenshot of an X-rated post: “You mean so much to me and I hate that things didn’t go as planned.”

The New York native then assured fans, “In the coming days, I hope to update our schedule with a new date that I can give you 100% and nothing less.”

The star, born Onika Maraj, stressed: “You don’t deserve to pay tkt to see me up there rapping with the flu. Absolutely not.’

Nicki added: “Thank you for your patience. Thank you for your good wishes. I love you. I love you. I like you.

“I look forward to seeing you very soon. This may have to take place in MAY due to the NBA Finals, but we won’t finish this tour without you. As long as you have me, my team and I will be here. I wish you blessings upon blessings upon blessings.

She ended the note by writing, “Always love” with a pink bow emoji.

The rap artist followed the post with another message aimed at his Georgian fans. ‘Atlanta, I’ll see you very soon. Thank you,” she wrote on the popular app.

Nicki’s canceled stop on the Pink Friday 2 World Tour in New Orleans was scheduled to take place at the Smoothie King Center.

A source told DailyMail.com: “Nicki has been very ill with the flu over the last few days. She started getting sick last week and managed to make it to the Rolling Loud festival on Friday.

“Unfortunately, after the show she found out she had the flu and it only got worse.”

A post shared on the Smoothie King Center Instagram account gave a brief explanation.

“Due to doctor’s orders, Nicki Minaj has to postpone her NOLA show tonight. As Nicki is still sick, our team does not want to take the risk of making others sick, and Nicki would not be able to give NOLA the show she deserves.

“We are working diligently to find a new date, so please hold onto your tickets and we will let you know soon,” it reads.

Some fans took to the comments to express their disappointment.

One social media user said: “She didn’t get sick until a few hours ago. This should have been announced this morning or yesterday. This is extremely last minute and I’m very frustrated..’

Another person added: “No one is mad that she canceled, it’s the fact that they waited 4 hours before the event to officially tell us.”

And a third agreed: “It’s messed up 4 hours before the event.”
