Nicki Minaj has been sued for alleged assault by a man named Brandon Garrett who claimed to be a ‘former manager’ during her Pink Friday 2 tour last year in 2024.

Garrett filed the new lawsuit through attorney Thomas Feher on Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court, and is also suing for assault and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

In documents obtained by TMZThe alleged former employee claimed he had been “punched” by Minaj, 42, while backstage after a concert in Detroit at Little Caesars Arena in April 2024.

In a statement to DailyMail.com, Minaj’s lawyer Judd Burstein criticized the lawsuit as “false and frivolous” and claimed that Minaj has yet to receive a formal complaint.

Burstein also suggested that Garrett was the rapper’s “former assistant” and not a “former manager.”

The alleged incident took place when Garrett was summoned to the rapper’s dressing room to confront him about an errand he had been ordered to run.

Garrett claimed that he was supposed to pick up Nicki’s prescriptions, but had sent another employee, Luke Montgomery, because he was busy with other duties at the arena.

The lawsuit then alleged that Minaj became “visibly upset,” according to Billboardand started yelling at him, ‘Are you fucking crazy for making me pick up my prescription?’

It is claimed she also shouted: ‘You’ve lost your fucking mind and if my husband was here I’d knock out your fucking teeth.’ You are a walking dead man. You just ruined your whole life and you will never be anyone, I will make sure of that.

During the alleged incident, Garrett claimed that Nicki approached him at one point and “punched” him on the “right side of his face, causing his head to swing back as his hat flew off.”

Security staff for Minaj, whose real name is Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty, quickly approached him and Garrett alleged that she hit him on the right wrist, causing him to drop the papers he had been holding on the floor.

The music artist allegedly ordered Garrett to “fuck off” and headed to a bathroom inside the venue, locking himself inside.

Concerned for his own safety, Garrett claimed he waited inside the bathroom for hours and also called his partner to reveal what had happened, according to Billboard.

He stated in the lawsuit that at the time “his wrist was throbbing and his face hurt, but he stayed in the bathroom because he was terrified and feared for his safety.”

After the alleged incident, Garrett claimed he was not allowed back on the tour bus to return to Chicago, leaving him in Detroit.

He flew back to Chicago to return to his hotel room and stayed there “for the next two days…because he was afraid and traumatized,” according to Billboard.

Garrett claimed he filed a report with Chicago police and then returned to Detroit to also file a formal police report about the alleged assault.

In the lawsuit, the alleged former employee sues for assault, battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Brandon also seeks punitive, exemplary and general damages.

Nicki’s lawyer told DailyMail.com in a statement: “At this time, no complaint has been made to Ms. Petty and therefore we are unaware of the specific allegations.”

‘However, if the lawsuit is as TMZ reports, it is completely false and frivolous. We are confident that the matter brought by this former assistant will be resolved quickly in favor of Ms. Petty.

The Pink Friday 2 world tour began last year in March 2024 and ended in October.

The tour consisted of a total of 79 shows and was in support of their 2023 fifth studio album titled Pink Friday 2.

In June last year, it was reported that Minaj had been struggling to sell tickets for the second leg of the tour.

In 2024, Nicki was also involved in other lawsuits, notably winning a retraction lawsuit in August over a gossip blogger who had claimed she was a “crack addict.”

Two years earlier, rapper Super Bass sued blogger Nosy Heaux, whose real name is Marley Green, after she uploaded a video claiming the music artist was ‘sticking all this cocaine up his nose.’

In the settlement, Green has to claim that he spread false information about Minaj’s cocaine use and had no evidence to support the claims. TMZ reported at the time.

The blogger cannot share or retweet posts that imply that the singer is doing something illegal or unethical.

If Marley violates the terms of the agreement, then the media personality must pay a fine of $50,000 for each violation to Minaj.

That same August, a superfan of the rapper filed a $5 million defamation lawsuit against the artist.

The fan claimed that in 2017, Nicki had accused him of “being a paid mole sent to sabotage her.”

She also accused her husband, Kenneth Petty, of allegedly ‘hitting’ her during a Super Bowl LIV event in 2020.
