Nick Viall gave his fiancée Natalie Joy an $8,000 Louis Vuitton bag as a gift for having their daughter River Rose… but she returned it.

Nick Viall bought his fiancée a very luxurious push gift for giving birth to their daughter River Rose in February.

The Bachelor alum, 43, bought the model and surgical technologist, 25, an $8,000 Louis Vuitton bag.

But she didn’t want it and returned it due to her frugal nature, the couple revealed in the most recent episode of Nick’s podcast, Viall Files.

“Nick bought me an $8,000 Louis Vuitton bag for my push gift and I thought, this makes me nauseous. I thought, ‘We have to give this back, this makes me nauseous,'” the new mom explained.

“It was a test,” Viall joked, while Joy responded, “It was a test and I was being frugal and let’s return this and get a little cosmetic case.”

Nick shared the reasons why he bought Natalie such an expensive bag.

“I bought it in New York, had a gig, a nice little gig, and then I felt generous,” he explained.

‘Here she is, 9 months pregnant with my son. It’s the least I could do and that’s why I bought this bag. And then, because Natalie is who she is, the very frugal queen, we took it back.”

When the couple went to the Louis Vuitton store, the salespeople were not very happy about wanting to return the bag.

“They were angry,” Joy said, while Viall added: “We said, ‘We just want to give it back.'”

They ended up being successful in returning the bag and exchanging it for a makeup bag.

The story surprised podcast guests Heidi Montag, 37, and her husband Spencer Pratt, 40, who were also talking about buying Hermes Birkin bags that sell for much more than the bag Viall bought Joy.

Viall and Joy met when she slid into his DMs and confirmed their relationship in January 2021.

‘She slid into my DMs. She was very romantic,” she explained in Viall Files.

“We kept dating and she finally got to a point where she was like, ‘I want to date,’ and I was like, ‘I don’t know,'” he explained.

“She told me, ‘Okay, this is what I want. “Okay, it’s not a big deal, but I’m going to do my thing,” and she did it and I was like, “What?!” … She went and showed me exactly what I would be missing.”

The couple got engaged in January 2023 and are actively planning their next wedding, although they have not revealed the date, only that the event will take place at Natalie’s family estate in Savannah, Georgia.
