In Nick Muse’s opinion, there is no bad history in the NFL. There is only NFL history, the one now made by Muse and his older brother, Tanner.

Nick Muse, a tight end, was released by the Minnesota Vikings on Monday, which was also his birthday. What makes this significant, and not just an unfortunate coincidence, is that Tanner Muse, a linebacker, was also released on his birthday three years ago by the Las Vegas Raiders.

“Look at that! Do you know what they call it? They call it NFL history,” Nick said on a video posted on social media. “How many times have two brothers cut each other on their birthday?”

“That’s pretty sick to me,” he continued. “I mean, it’s the wrong side of NFL history, but, hey, sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. I appreciate the birthday messages.”

Kudos to Muse for being able to make light of the situation when it has to hurt to be released by the Vikings just two days after the team activated him from injured reserve and opened its 21-day practice window under NFL rules .

Muse, 26, was in his third season with the Vikings after being selected in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft outside of South Carolina. He appeared in three games with Minnesota this year. Over the course of his career, he played in 15 games, making one reception for 22 yards.

Not only was Tanner infamously fired on his birthday, but the move came after the Raiders wished him a happy birthday. on social networks. (Unfortunately, it seems that the Vikings did the same.)

Tanner was released during the 2021 preseason after missing his entire rookie campaign due to injury. He has played four seasons in the NFL with the Seattle Seahawks, Los Angeles Chargers and Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars released him on November 5.
