Nick Carter smiled as he stepped outside on the day that he was accused in 2001 of raping a disabled lady on a tour bus.
The singer, 42, has denied the claims and was joined by his band Backstreet Boys as they chatted with fans outside the Empire State Building in New York City on Thursday.
Despite the news that the holiday special of the band has been cancelled due to the new lawsuit the group appeared to be in good spirits.
Carter, casually clad in jeans and trainers, waved at onlookers before posing for photographs with bandmates Aj Mclean, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, Kevin Richardson.

After their Christmas special, they invited friends to join them for the outing. was supposed to air on ABC December 14th, but has been cancelled.
The holiday-themed special featured the band members performing songs from their 10th album A Very Backstreet Christmas.
The special featured celebrities like Seth Rogen and Meghan Trainor as well as Ron Funches, Ron Funches, Atsuko Okatsuka, Rob Riggle and Ron Funches.
This news came after Carter was accused by raping a 17year-old girl aboard a tour bus during the band’s 2001 tour.
During a Thursday press conference, the disabled woman who claims Carter raped and abused her, she cried as she announced her lawsuit against the star. Carter has since denied the allegations.

Shannon ‘Shay” Ruth, now 39, a woman with autism and cerebral palsy claims that Backstreet Boys singer invited Ruth onto his tour bus in 2002, when she was 17. She met him at a concert in Tacoma, Washington.
Ruth claims the star pulled down her trousers and exposed his nakedness to her in a public bathroom. He then allegedly forced Ruth to perform oral sex and then raped her.
She Carter claimed Carter ‘threatened to silence her’ in the immediate aftermath, describing the resulting ‘pain, confusion and frustration, shame, self-harm, and frustration’.
Mark J. Boskovich, Ruth’s attorney, stated that three other women, only Jane Doe, were named in a joint suit alongside Ruth.

According to court documents obtained TMZ Ruth claims she was invited on the tour bus by Carter. Ruth claims Carter asked Ruth if she wanted a beverage. After she requested apple juice, Carter offered Ruth cranberry juice and gave her a VIP juice’.
Ruth claims the drink tasted strange when she tried it. She says it was cranberry juice mixed with alcohol.
Ruth claimed that Carter took Ruth to the bus’s bathroom and ordered her oral sex with him. Ruth claims that she was crying and Carter kept her in line.
Ruth claims Carter then took Ruth to a seat on the bus and continued his alleged sexual assault.

She claims afterwards that she told Carter she would tell people about the alleged assault – but that he reportedly threatened to turn people against her, allegedly calling her a “r******* little b***h that no one would believe.’

In a statement to DailyMail.com on Thursday, Carter’s attorney Michael Holtz said that the allegations were ‘entirely false’.
He said that “this claim about an incident that allegedly took place more than twenty years ago is not just legally meritless, but also completely untrue.”
Holtz stated that “unfortunately, for many years now, Ms. Ruth was manipulated into making falsified allegations about Nick – those allegations have changed repeatedly, and materially over the years.”
He “No one should be fooled” by a press stunt orchestrated and executed by an opportunistic attorney – there is nothing at all to this claim, which the courts will no doubt quickly realize.

Carter has not spoken out about the allegations, but he shared a post encouraging Aaron to attend a charity concert on Thursday, hours before the claims were made public.
Carter has been accused of rape, which he denied. He has never been charged.
Melissa Schuman, a 2017 singer, stated that the boy bander raped him in 2003.
In 2018, the LA County District Attorney’s Office announced that it would not press charges against Carter because of the statute of limitations. This statute expired in 2013.
Melissa, who is a member the 90s girl-group Dream, had filed a police report in February of that same year.
