Trevor Lawrence assured fans that he is recovering well at home after taking a brutal hit to the head in the Jaguars’ loss to the Texans on Sunday afternoon.
Jacksonville’s quarterback was the victim of a big tackle by Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair, which left him motionless on the field and sparked a bench-clearing brawl.
Al-Shaair was ejected from the game and Lawrence was carted off the field, and the latter has now given fans a long-awaited health update.
In a post on X, Lawrence said: ‘Thank you to everyone who reached out and prayed for me. I’m home and I feel better. It means a lot, thank you all.’
In the incident, Lawrence was running for a first down and slid out of the play. Al-Shaair did not stop and delivered a strong blow to the quarterback’s upper body and helmet.
As soon as the blow was landed, tight end Evan Engram began shoving Al-Shaair, and several others from both teams participated in the scrum seconds later.

Lawrence remained lying down and was immediately helped by doctors before he was finally taken out. He was sitting up and alert as he was taken back to the locker room for further evaluation.
The talented QB, 25, was ruled out of the game shortly after with a concussion, and Mac Jones replaced him at center.
Jacksonville’s Jarrian Jones was also ejected from the game, while Engram received a 15-yard penalty for being the first to engage Al-Shaair in a fight.
A few hours after the game, eagle-eyed NFL fans spotted a political message on Al-Shaair’s shoes, sparking more controversy after the hit.
The 27-year-old Tampa-born NFL star had “Free” written on the outside of his cleats in Palestine red and green, with messages written on the side.
One ribbon read: “Surely to Allah we belong and to him we will all return,” while the other read: “At least 41,788 Palestinians killed.” It is estimated that more than 10,000 people are under the rubble. 96,794 injured.’
Azeez Al-Shaair wore pro-Palestinian shoes on Sunday, before being expelled for fighting.
Al-Shaair is a practicing Muslim and joined the Texans in March on a three-year, $34 million contract.
