Bucs safety Antoine Winfield Jr. has become the highest-paid defensive back in NFL history after agreeing to a massive new deal.
As reported by Ian Rapoport of the NFL NetworkWinfield Jr. will sign a four-year, $84.1 million contract with Tampa Bay.
The contract also guarantees him 45 million dollars.
Winfield, 25, was named first-team All-Pro for the first time after last season.
He tied for the league lead in forced fumbles with six, and also recorded 76 solo tackles.

While Winfield Jr. has made history among defensive backs, his salary is still dwarfed by several quarterbacks.
Joe Burrow will rake in $65.7 million in total cash in 2024, while Kirk Cousins will earn $62.5 million and Justin Herbert will earn $56.6 million, according to Spotrac.
Winfield Jr has earned $8.7 million to date while playing on a rookie contract.
