NFL star Adam Cooney is tipped to join the new season of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Australia

Former NFL star Adam Cooney is expected to head into the woods as one of the cast members on the latest series of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Australia.

The Western Bulldogs and Essendon star has already successfully transitioned into the world of broadcasting on the Channel 7 show, Armchair Experts.

Now, it looks like he’ll be swapping his cozy studio for wilderness camping and bushtucker experiences in South Africa, according to Herald Sun.

The athlete – who won a prestigious AFL individual medal in 2008 – is expected to join the show along with some other big names when it airs on Channel 10 from 2 April.

Rumors have swirled about who will be joining the ninth series of the popular programme.

The latest trailer for the reality TV show confirms that a soccer player, comedian, boxer, and chef have signed on — and an insider recently commented on the potential castings.

Rugby league star Sam Burgess should be the frontrunner. And the comedian is either Tommy Little or Peter Hellyar new idea.

They added that celebrity chef Shannon Bennett and lightweight boxing champion Lauren Eagle were likely candidates.

“Tommy is one of the last comedians on the Teen Books and they may need to tie some ends to Pete’s knot after he leaves The Project,” said the spy.

And after some run-ins with the law, Lauren seems perfectly suited to the look of redemption.

The next season of I’m a Celebrity will feature Dr. Chris Brown, 44, and Julia Morris, 54.

This is despite Dr. Chris Brown quitting Channel Ten after 15 years, and signing on with rival network Channel Seven.

The final trailer shows the hosts performing a song with backup dancers and wild animals on a plane heading to the African jungle.
