NFL legend Terry Bradshaw admitted he “felt bad” for Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid after Travis Kelce punched and yelled at him during the Super Bowl.

During the second quarter of the Chiefs’ 25-22 victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas, cameras caught the exchange between Kelce and his head coach on the sideline.

Moments before the incident, Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco had fumbled during a play in which Kelce was standing on the sideline.

“I felt bad for Andy because Andy had hip surgery,” Bradshaw said.

‘He had his game plan in hand. And when Kelce walked up, Kelce didn’t push him, Kelce walked up and accidentally hit him, I don’t think she pushed him or anything like that. It was an accident, but it looked bad on television.

Bradshaw went on to say that he texted Reid after the game and ended up surprised by how quickly he received a response.

“Nothing about Kelce,” Bradshaw said of the text message exchange with Reid. ‘Kelce felt bad and it was over. They won the soccer game.

Kelce ended up finishing the Super Bowl with nine receptions for 93 yards.

After Kelce came under fire for his reaction and behavior toward Reid during the game, his brother Jason also gave him a stern reprimand on his New Heights podcast.

Jason told him: ‘You crossed the line. Let’s be honest. Even the screams in his face are also exaggerated. There are better ways to handle this retrospectively.”

Travis agreed, even going so far as to suggest that he would quit football if Reid retired.

The tight end responded, “I can’t get excited to the point where I bump into the coach and knock him off balance.” When he tripped, I thought “oh shit” in my head.

‘I’m a passionate guy. I love Coach Reid. He knows how much I love playing for him, how much I love being a product of his coaching career.

‘I won’t play for anyone but Big Red. If he quits this year then I’ll be with him, man.

‘I have a certain relationship with him. He checked on me several times and I just wanted to let him know that I wanted this and that he can put it on me and that I have it.

‘It came at a time when we weren’t playing very well. I wasn’t playing very well and we had to get down to business and sometimes those emotions get away from me, man. That has been the battle of my career.

‘I don’t give a damn what other people say. I talked to Coach Reid about it today and we chuckled.

“I couldn’t be more proud to be his product on the field and I couldn’t be more proud of where we’ve come as a team since I got here in 2013 and I love playing for this guy.”

“Unfortunately, sometimes my passion comes out where it seems like it’s negativity, but I’m grateful that he knows it’s all because I want to win this with him more than anything.”
