NFL Hall of Famer Jerry Rice admitted he was nervous watching his son, USC wide receiver Brenden Rice, during the NFL combine.

Brenden, who transferred to USC from Colorado in 2022, gave up the remainder of his college eligibility to enter this year’s NFL Draft.

Jerry, the best wide receiver in NFL history, insisted his son had worked very hard when asked if he was ready for the NFL.

“I’m very proud, but I think he (has) worked very hard and is waiting for his opportunity,” he told NFL Network.

‘And I’m just being a parent, I’m just here to support him… You know, I hear people tell me all the time “don’t be so judgmental” and stuff like that. But only if he asked me for information is when I would pass it on.

“But I’m just here as a father and it’s going to be a great opportunity for him, so I’m excited for him.”

Jerry, who spent most of his NFL career with the San Francisco 49ers, admitted it’s exciting to see his son in the Combine spotlight.

“He’s always nervous,” Rice responded when asked about his nerves while watching his son.

“When your kids try to do something really amazing, you always try to put them in a position where they can win.

“But that’s like when my daughter was singing the national anthem and it was like, Oh my God, I almost died on that football field before the game.”

Jerry played in 303 regular season games during his 20-year NFL career and recorded 1,549 receptions, 22,895 yards and 197 touchdowns.

He was also named a 10-time All-Pro, 13-time Pro Bowler and won three Super Bowls, along with a list of other accolades.

During his two years in Southern California after transferring from Colorado, he totaled 84 receptions, 1,402 yards and 16 touchdowns.

Brenden also had his press conference hilariously interrupted by teammate and projected No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams.

Williams has some free time in Indianapolis, as he is not participating in on-field drills. Instead, he wanted to play reporter so he could have the chance to ask his former teammate some questions.

‘How does it feel to be Jerry Rice’s son? I have another question after that!’ Williams began.

‘Man, it feels even better to be Caleb Williams’ teammate!’ Rice responded.
