Super Bowl LIX is still about three months away, but some NFL fans are convinced they already know what the game will look like.
During the weekend, a ‘script’ for the game was shared on social media, stating that the Chiefs will beat the Lions 54-50 on February 9.
The image, which appears to be formatted as a Google sports result, suggests the Lions will finish the regular season 16-1 and the Chiefs undefeated 17-0.
And although there is no evidence that the graph is a legitimate ‘script’, some fans found the high score issue plausible.
“This would be great for the lions, but they better flip that script to win,” said one.
The Lions’ Jake Bates celebrates the winning field goal Sunday against the Texans
Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs are 9-0 after a close victory over the Broncos last weekend.
“Discreet, not impossible,” said a second fan.
“This would possibly be the best Super Bowl of all time,” added a third in response to Total professional sports re-share the graph.
However, others were less convinced that they would actually see Detroit and Kansas City combine to score 104 points.
“No team is scoring 54 points on the Lions,” one fan said.
“Yeah, if they were the 2018 or 2019 Chiefs,” another added.
Despite Patrick Mahomes and Co.’s undefeated start through 2024, they have only the 11th-best scoring offense in the league at 24.3 points per game.
In fact, they reached 30 points just once this season and needed overtime to do it, as they beat the Bucs in a Week 9 overtime clash.
Meanwhile, the Lions moved to 8-1 on Sunday with a 26-23 comeback win over the Texans.
Detroit is allowing just 19 points per game through nine games and also has the league’s best point differential at +113.
The teams won’t play the regular season, so the only way they could cross paths in the coming months is in New Orleans for the Super Bowl.
