Simone Biles drew the ire of NFL fans with her fashion choices on Saturday as she watched her Chicago Bears husband, Jonathan Owens, get dressed.
After wowing crowds in Paris with three gold medals and one silver, the Olympic gymnast saw some NFL preseason action as she cheered on her boyfriend at the Bears’ game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
However, eagle-eyed NFL fans were left infuriated when the 27-year-old committed a football fashion faux pas.
Standing on the sidelines of Soldier Field, the Olympic legend was seen wearing an oversized jacket with black and white photos of her NFL husband printed on it.
However, the various snapshots showed Owens in action with the Green Bay Packers, the Bears’ longtime rivals and his former team. To make matters worse, the Packers logo was emblazoned on the shoulder pad.

As she walked the runway, Biles also sported a protective boot on her left foot due to a calf injury she sustained at the Olympics. She completed her look with a pair of reflective silver sunglasses, a black Prada bucket hat and a Balenciaga bag.
Despite her attempts to make a touching and supportive gesture toward Owens, Biles found herself thrust into one of the league’s fiercest rivalries, and fans weren’t impressed.
“Simone Biles should be stripped of all her medals after wearing Packers gear while cheering on the Bears,” one social media user posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Yeah, yeah, I get it, her husband played for the Packers and it’s an Owens-themed jacket, but this is just wrong.”
Others echoed the same sentiment and questioned Biles’ seemingly oblivious knowledge of soccer.
“With all due respect, Simone Biles needs to throw that jacket away ASAP,” another said. “How could she walk in with it?”
“Obviously she supports her husband Jonathan Owens and is a top Olympian so she gets a pass…but it’s still one of the oldest rivalries in all of football and she rocks #GoPackGo logos,” The Athletic’s Chase Daniel posted.
“Free her husband now!” chimed in one particularly furious Bears fan, while another added: “She’s ridiculously oblivious to her surroundings and it’s an insult to her husband.”
Owens played one season in Green Bay last year before moving across Lake Michigan to Chicago earlier this year.

Football fans took to social media after they were angered by his game-day attack.
As his other half prepared for his quest for gold in Paris, the safety agreed in March to a two-year contract with the Bears worth an estimated $4.5 million.
The gymnast seemed elated with her partner’s move and celebrated the arrangement in a series of tweets.
“CHICAGO HERE IT COMES,” she posted before appearing to reveal that she has no plans to make a permanent move on her man.
“I’m so excited to not have a connecting flight to go see my husband hahahahaha,” she wrote in a follow-up message.
Yet despite her initial joy, amid more Olympic medals, it appears Biles hasn’t had time to update her game-day wardrobe.
Owens appears to have settled into his new NFL chapter in Chicago and the franchise even allowed him five days off from preseason training so he could travel to Paris to see his wife at the Olympics.

The security guard was photographed sporting the gymnastics legend’s Olympic gold medal earlier this month.
Owens and Biles met on the celebrity dating app Raya in 2020, when she was already a four-time Olympic gold medalist and widely considered one of the greatest gymnasts of all time.
Biles and Owens got engaged in 2022 and married last April.
Owens came under fire late last year for admitting he didn’t know who Biles was before the two met.
The backlash against Owens was so strong that Biles had to intervene by posting on her Instagram story “STOP TREATING ME” followed by 14 smiley face emojis and concluding with “work on that for the new year.”
