Fans are divided over the future of Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson after he threw a pass deemed “the worst interception of the year” against the Bears.
The Colts managed to get over the line with a 21-16 win over Chicago, but second-year QB Richardson surprised when he followed up a 50-yard completion with a remarkable short-range interception.
Fans were baffled by the release, with many claiming it was a bust after a rough start to the year. He was under center for two losses to start the year, and then even in the Colts’ win, he produced some troubling moments.
On social media, former player turned analyst Emmanuel Acho wrote: “Anthony Richardson will take years off the lives of Colts fans.
‘Look at these two plays. How the hell can these two plays happen within seconds of each other? HOW?! I would be furious as a fan.’

Some NFL fans have called Richardson a “bust” after a rough start to the season.
Richardson has now thrown a notable five interceptions in three games, including three in the Week 2 loss at Green Bay.
After the latest missed shot, one fan wrote that he’s “breaking down right now,” while another added, “Richardson misses too many layups.”
One also explained: ‘Anthony Richardson can complete passes that 99% of NFL QBs can’t complete. Anthony Richardson can’t complete passes that 99% of NFL QBs can complete.’

The second-year quarterback has thrown five interceptions in just three games this season.
Speaking after the Week 3 win, Richardson himself admitted that the quarterback play needs to improve.
He told NFL Network: “The quarterback play has to get a lot better. I’m a tough critic of myself. I keep turning the ball over and my team doesn’t need that.
‘The defense played very well, my offensive line played very well, I just have to come in and step up and play better.’
