Fox play-by-play commentator Joe Davis is coming under fire for his “biased” call during the Washington Commanders’ thrilling 36-33 win over the Philadelphia Eagles at home on Sunday.

Davis called the game alongside Greg Olsen and received a Game of the Year candidate at Northwest Stadium. With six seconds left, Jayden Daniels threw the game-winning touchdown to Jamison Crowder, sealing the victory for Washington.

The exciting game snapped Philadelphia’s impressive 10-game winning streak and clinched the Commanders’ first double-digit winning season (10-5) since 2012.

However, fans’ foreheads furrowed moments after the winning touchdown when Davis yelled “Absurd” in reaction.

As a result, fans called fault for Davis’ uneven performance in the booth. Many thought “absurd” was the wrong adjective since Eagles backup quarterback Kenny Picket played most of the game, covering for Jalen Hurts, who suffered a concussion.

“The worst part about watching today’s loss was having to listen to commentators Greg Olsen and Joe Davis for 3 hours straight,” one fan wrote.

‘Joe Davis is great, but he still completely ignores that Jalen Hurts hasn’t played since the first quarter. This isn’t this “absurd” comeback he thinks it is. Things change when the star quarterback is out, what a surprise!’ said another.

“He was just disgusted by this. The birds missed his quip. But his comment was so bad. Just rubbish,” chimed in a third.

“He was horrible today… I never once thought about how the game would have been different if Hurts hadn’t gotten hurt…” a fourth commented.

It’s absurd! Someone wake up Joe Davis,” said another.

The Eagles (12-3) lead the NFC East and have clinched second place in the conference with two games remaining against the Cowboys and Giants.

Meanwhile, the Commanders are on track to make their first playoff appearance since losing to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2020 wild card round.
