NFL Draft order has a huge reshuffle after shock Week 16 results

The New York Giants currently have the number one pick in next April's 2025 NFL Draft.

After this week’s slate of NFL games, the New York Giants are now in the driver’s seat to have the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Meanwhile, the team that held that spot entering Week 16, the Las Vegas Raiders, are slated to have the No. 6 pick after a win over Jacksonville slipped their future pick.

Although the Giants are alone at 2-13 in first place, the NFL has five 3-12 teams, and the Raiders are the last to select them due to head-to-head tiebreakers.

Between New York and Las Vegas are, in order, New England, Jacksonville, Tennessee and Cleveland.

Four of the top six teams, with the Jaguars and Patriots the only two exceptions, would be looking for an upgrade at the quarterback position.

Meanwhile, two-way Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter appears to be the consensus highest-rated player in the 2025 class, and is not expected to fall beyond the top three picks.

The Raiders used to have that pick, but fell to No. 6 after Sunday's win over the Jaguars.

By beating Jacksonville on Sunday, the Raiders now sit three spots behind them with two games left for these teams in the regular season.

Beyond the top six picks, there are three teams with a 4-11 record, with the Panthers dramatically improving their record and dropping their draft position in recent weeks, including Sunday’s win over the Cardinals.

The Panthers have the No. 7 pick, followed by the Jets and Bears. New York at No. 8 will be interesting as the team faces arguably the most interesting offseason in football.

If the team moves on from Aaron Rodgers, the Jets would likely select a quarterback with their first pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, after cleaning house for almost everyone except their aging questioner.

Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders is the consensus highest-rated quarterback entering the draft, followed by Miami’s Cam Ward, Alabama’s Jalen Milroe and Texas’ Quinn Ewers.
