His account was used to send invalid messages.
The Twitter account of Brazil and Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar was hacked on Tuesday and used to send incorrect messages, the player’s Brazilian press officer told AFP.
“It was hacked! Twitter is taking care of the problem. At the moment I have no other information,” said the press officer for the 31-year-old, who is currently recovering from surgery on his right ankle.
Many of the messages sent by the hackers were deleted from the account, which is followed by more than sixty million people. However, AFP was able to see a message that did not disappear, targeting a Brazilian media outlet in offensive terms.
Neymar’s sister Rafaela’s Twitter account was also hacked. The young woman posted a video on Instagram to explain that she was not the source of the messages on her account.
