The report claims that Neymar’s relationship with PSG’s sporting director Leonardo is now much stronger after a rough patch between the two in 2019.

Neymar was on the cusp of sealing a sensational move to former club Barcelona in the summer of 2019 after struggling to settle in Paris following his £ 198m world record deal, but Leonardo turned down any move.

PSG have now made every effort to get Neymar to sign a new deal amid ongoing uncertainty about Kylian Mbappé’s future, with Real Madrid in a circle.

The report states that PSG will be submitting their lucrative new proposal to Neymar in the coming days before making its decision final.

Barca’s interest in Neymar appears to have cooled off with the Spanish club in a financial mess and Lionel Messi’s future far from certain.

Neymar played 12 times for the French giants this season, scoring nine goals and receiving five assists, but an ankle injury has kept him on the sidelines for the past month.

However, Neymar gave PSG and Pochettino a huge boost by returning to practice on Monday ahead of Wednesday’s Champions Trophy showdown against Marseille.

Should the 28-year-old miss the game, his next goal is the trip to Angers on Saturday.
