There is still a big question mark behind Benjamin Pavard’s sporting future at FC Bayern. The flexible defender does not seem to lack options. Manchester United should also deal with the Frenchman.
According to the “Football Insider” portal, Pavard plays a role in the English record champions’ transfer plans. Manchester United are reportedly hoping to sign Jeremie Frimpong. Should the Premier League club go away empty-handed when it comes to wooing the right-back from Bayer Leverkusen, Pavard would probably be the plan B.
The 2018 world champion is only tied to Bayern Munich until 2024. There are currently no negotiations between the two parties about an extension. “There are currently no talks with the club,” Pavard told Telefoot about a week ago.
Real Madrid and FC Barcelona have also been repeatedly associated with Pavard in recent weeks. However, Spanish “Marca” recently reported that Barca will not buy a right-back in the summer. In particular, Pavard and Juan Foyth from FC Villarreal were previously considered hot candidates for a transfer to the leaders of the Primera División.
FC Bayern: Pavard future open
“I’m not averse to taking on a new challenge. Maybe now is the right time. Why not discover a new country, a new culture?” Pavard had caught his eye in an interview with “L’Équipe” last November.
At “Sport1” the defensive all-rounder finally rowed back at the beginning of March. “I never said I wanted to leave,” Pavard clarified, adding: “I know very well that I’m in a very big club where everything is excellently positioned. I feel very comfortable here, I like it club and the fans and I hope we can achieve great things this season.”
