Newtown stabbing sparks Sydney murder investigation

A murder investigation has been launched after a man was found stabbed to death in the Sydney outback.
Police said emergency services were called to Forbes Street, Newtown, in Sydney’s inner-west, on Friday following reports of a stabbing at around 7pm.
Upon arrival, officers from the Inland Police Area Command West found a male with a stab wound to the torso.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics but sadly died at the scene.
The man has not been formally identified but is believed to be in his 60s.
A crime scene has been established and investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.
