‘I almost had a heart attack’: Concerned fans assume the worst when cancer-stricken Olivia Newton-John trends on Twitter

Olivia Newton-John is currently battling stage four metastatic breast cancer.

So when the 72-year-old started trending on Twitter Tuesday morning, fans assumed the worst.

Panic swirled on social media when fans realized that Olivia hadn’t posted to Instagram or Twitter for three days.

Fortunately, the reason Olivia was trending had nothing to do with her health.

In fact, the Grease star is celebrating the 43rd anniversary of her first US TV special with Swedish pop group ABBA.

A relieved fan tweeted: ‘Saw Olivia Newton John was trending. My god, I almost had a heart attack. She would live forever. ‘

I literally saw Olivia Newton-John trending and almost burst into tears, thinking about the worst! Thank goodness she’s trending because she’s fantastic! another wrote, while a third fan tweeted: ‘Don’t scare me that much!’

Olivia has had breast cancer three times, having previously battled the disease in 1992 and 2013.

In January, the singer told The One Show that she felt healthier than ever after treating her condition with plant medications and medical cannabis.

The Xanadu star is also receiving conventional therapies, including radiation.

Last December, Olivia and her husband, John Easterling, launched the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund to support plant medicine research against cancer.
