Sandro Tonali has been hit with 50 new misconduct allegations for betting on football matches AFTER his move to Newcastle.
The Italian midfielder is already serving a 10-month ban, which will expire on August 27, after admitting to having breached the rules of the game in his home country.
But Tonali, who joined the Magpies from AC Milan in July for £52m, could now face a fresh suspension following the Football Association’s own investigation.
An FA statement said: “Sandro Tonali has been charged with misconduct in relation to alleged breaches of the FA Betting Rules.
“The Newcastle United midfielder is alleged to have breached FA rule E8 50 times by placing bets on football matches between August 12, 2023 and October 12, 2023. Sandro Tonali has until April 5, 2024 in order to respond”.

Mail Sport revealed in November that the FA was investigating whether Tonali had continued to bet on football matches while under its jurisdiction.
