- Sandro Tonali is in pre-season training with his Newcastle United teammates
- Tonali, 24, appeared to be wearing a watch worth around £500,000 on a bike ride.
- The midfielder’s 10-month suspension for betting offences will end on August 27
Sandro Tonali will be available to play again for Newcastle United from August 27, when his 10-month ban for betting offences expires.
The Italian midfielder was initially handed an 18-month ban by the Italian Football Federation last October, but his punishment was later reduced as a result of his cooperation with investigators in his home country.
Tonali will miss Newcastle’s first two Premier League games of the new season but has already been allowed to train with his team-mates.
Newcastle’s players are currently in Germany on a pre-season trip and Tonali was pictured on a bike ride near the club’s training base on Wednesday.
Tonali was wearing a team training shirt and shorts, but what really stood out was what he was wearing on his wrist.

The watch on Tonali’s wrist appeared to be a very expensive Richard Mille Rafael Nadal watch.

The 24-year-old appeared to be wearing a Richard Mille Rafael Nadal watch, which can cost more than £500,000.
It is currently on sale through montro.com for £449,835.05 but that does not include import costs of £86,428.07.
Several fans spotted the luxury watch on Tonali’s wrist in another photo and took to social media to share their findings and air their opinions.
One tweeted: ‘Tonali wearing his Richard Mille Rafael Nadal watch, worth over £400,000, in the changing room! These guys are swimming in money!’
Another comment read: “If you want an idea of how outrageously Premier League footballers are paid, the watch Sandro Tonali happens to be wearing at Newcastle training is a Richard Mille Rafa Nadal edition. It costs half a million pounds. Or, for him, three weeks’ wages.”
Tonali, 24, is hoping to boost his career after being suspended from football for 10 months.
He scored one goal in 12 games for Newcastle last season before the ban stopped him.
Tonali’s contract with Newcastle is actually worth £120,000-a-week, but he has not received this amount in full during his suspension after accepting a voluntary pay cut.
He made just 12 appearances for the Magpies last season following his £52million arrival from AC Milan in July 2023.
