Ahead of their second season with Aaron Rodgers at quarterback, the New York Jets are reloading, acquiring Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Haason Reddick on Friday from the Philadelphia Eagles.
Reddick was traded by the Eagles for a third-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, which could trade to a top-two round pick depending on the linebacker’s performance.
The Eagles’ linebacking corps was a bit full after the team signed Bryce Huff from the Jets in free agency to a three-year, $51.1 million contract.
Now Reddick will head to the AFC, where he hopes to be part of the resurgence in New York.
It will be the first AFC team Reddick pays for after previous stops with the Panthers and Cardinals.
Reddick spent two seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles before being traded to New York.
Rodgers will return as the Jets’ starting quarterback this fall with his sights set on quick success.
The addition of Reddick signals a broader plan from Jets general manager Joe Douglas.
Rodgers will turn 41 in December and will be coming off Achilles surgery for his next NFL snaps.
