Marcus Rashford’s investment firm has been issued with a suspension notice by Companies House.

The Manchester United striker has endured a difficult few months on the pitch, losing his place in the team before sitting down for an explosive interview in which he claimed he was ready for a “new challenge” away from his boyhood club.

The Red Devils are keen to offload the 27-year-old, who is one of the club’s highest earners, this month and links have been established with clubs including PSG, Juventus and the Saudi Pro League.

Off the field, Rashford has built an impressive business portfolio that rakes in millions every year. In 2023, was reported that Rashford’s companies made more than £17m in the previous financial year.

At the time, the earnings exceeded the £200,000 weekly salary he received from the Red Devils. But it looks like at least one of his companies could be dissolved after Companies House gave him a cancellation notice.

Mucs Investments Limited will be deregistered and dissolved “at least two months” from December 31, 2024.

Football finance expert Kieran Maguire shared on X the opinion that this could be due to a late submission of documents.

The company reportedly had £292,227 in assets as of January 2022. By contrast, Rashford’s image rights company, Mucs Enterprises, saw its assets increase from £11 million to £20.1 million that same year.

On Wednesday, Rashford denied claims that he had held talks with a major sports agency amid his continued struggles at Man United.

Before their defeat against Newcastle, Ruben Amorim left Rashford out of the United squad for four games, sparking much debate over the forward’s future.

According to The Sun, Rashford has held talks with leading sports agency Stellar (the same agency helped secure Gareth Bale’s impressive £86m move from Tottenham to Real Madrid in 201) in the hope of securing a move away from Old Trafford this month.

However, Rashford took to social media to deny the reports. In an Instagram post, he said: “There have been a lot of fake stories in recent weeks, but guys, this is getting ridiculous – I’ve never met with any agency and I have no plans to.”

Rashford’s last appearance for United was on December 12 when he played 56 minutes against Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League. The United star is currently represented by his brother Dwaine Maynard.

Rashford, whose contract with United runs until the summer of 2028, has made 426 appearances for the club and scored 138 goals.

United are currently languishing in 14th place in the Premier League and are eager to improve their form.

After the game against Newcastle, United will play league leaders Liverpool on Sunday.
