Bose appears to be about to release a new version of its Sport Earbuds – and they look like the lovechild of the Samsung Galaxy Buds Live and the Powerbeats Pro.
As noted by The edgePhotos of the Bose Sport Open Earbuds were included in one FCC filing (Federal Communications Commission), which usually indicates a release is on the way – although it doesn’t necessarily mean the wireless earbuds will ever go into production.
The new sports-focused wireless earbuds follow the Bose Sport Earbuds and feature a bean-shaped ‘open’ design like Samsung Galaxy Buds Live, as well as ear hooks that are somewhat reminiscent of the Powerbeats Pro.
That means, unlike most earbuds on the market, the Bose Sport Open doesn’t actually fit into the opening of your ear; instead, they sit against the opening of your ear canal, which is suitable for those who find traditional earplugs uncomfortably intrusive.
More upgrades
As we said, there is no guarantee that these true wireless earbuds will actually hit the market; Bose has yet to confirm their existence, and we know very little about them other than design.
The company has now updated the noise-canceling Bose QuietComfort Earbuds and you can now adjust the volume by tapping the outer housing of the right earbuds. To enable this feature, you must open the Bose Music app and change the volume control on the device.
The over-ear Bose Noise Canceling Headphones 700 have also received a minor upgrade: you can now long press the right earcup to access Spotify, making it even faster to play your tunes.
