Netflix & # 39; s adjustment of The Witcher, based on the adored novels of Andrzej Sapkowski, will be available to stream on December 20, according to a new trailer.
This is the second trailer for the highly anticipated series from Netflix, after a brief look at the show last summer in San Diego Comic-Con. It mainly emphasizes Geralt's relationship with other characters in the show, but shows some new and intense action scenes.
The series draws all its inspiration from the Sapkowski series instead of the incredibly popular RPG series from CD Projekt Red. Although Henry Cavill's Geralt turns up in a bathtub and pays homage to one moment The Witcher 3 that produced a popular meme.
Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, who oversees the series and is best known for her work on The Umbrella Academy and The defenders, told Weekly entertainment in July that her show deliberately strays from the video games.
"They went one way, we can actually go the other," said Hissrich. "We keep a bit close to what we do in the first season."
It is not just video games and TV series that have been inspired The Witcher. There is also a series of board games and even a trading card game. They all contain the original Sapkowski stories to varying degrees.
