According to a recent study, feminist women are almost 10% more likely to perform oral sex than non-feminists.

Feminists have better sex than non-feminists, study finds new article written by Tina Fetner, sociologist at McMaster University.

“Feminist women report that their sexual relationships are more cuddly, loving and enjoyable – some might say better – than those who are not feminists,” Fetner wrote for The Conversation.

Fetner’s comments are based on recent research his team conducted with 1,126 Canadian women.

For the study, published in the Archives of sexual behaviorThe team asked a representative sample of women a series of questions about their intimate lives as well as their political allegiance, and whether or not they considered themselves feminists.

Both sides of the political aisle reported high levels of sexual satisfaction. But when Fetner delved into the details, she began to see differences.

Some 68 percent of liberal women reported kissing and cuddling in their bedrooms, compared to 57 percent of non-feminists.

Couples who cuddle after having sex tend to have higher levels of sexual satisfaction and report feeling more connected to their partner, researchers at the University of Toronto have discovered.

Kissing has also been linked to greater arousal. A 2021 study Researchers from the University of Connecticut and Brigham Young University reported that as kissing increased during sex, women’s arousal, sexual satisfaction, and frequency of orgasms also increased.

This is why Fetner concluded that cuddling and kissing can both be elements of a satisfying sexual relationship.

Ms. Fetner’s comments come months after Senator Ted Cruz suggested that women who support Democrats have a bad time in bed.

In December 2023, the conservative Texas politician launched into a rant against Turning Point USA Festival lecture about how he thought liberal women must be dissatisfied with their liberal partners.

“If you were a liberal woman and you had to sleep with these assholes (liberal men), you would be pissed too,” he said.

However, Fetner’s study suggests that this is far from the case.

Senator Ted Cruz recently claimed that liberal women are likely to be unhappy in bed because of their “small” liberal partners.

She found that 38 percent of feminist women surveyed reported frequent oral sex from their partners — compared to 30 percent of non-liberals. Oral sex is an essential way to stimulate a woman’s clitoris – the sensitive part of the genitals that contains millions of nerve endings, and which Fetner calls the “pathway to sexual pleasure” for women.

Other scientists agree. Clitoral stimulation is “essential to orgasmic functioning for most female gynecologists,” wrote Donna Mazloomdoost and Rachel Pauls in a 2015 article in the Journal of Opinion on sexual medicine.

Liberal women also reported masturbating more often than conservative women.

Masturbation is a key exploratory process in helping women develop and understand their sexuality, according to the National Women’s Health Network. Additionally, it can help relieve stress, improve sleep, and reduce menstrual pain.

Fetner explains this sexual gap between feminists and non-feminists by focusing on the sociology of the feminist movement.

Perhaps one of America's most famous feminist icons is journalist and activist Gloria Steinem, pictured here speaking at the 1972 Democratic National Convention.

Sexual liberation has been a cornerstone of the movement since at least the 1960s.

This means that feminist women can be more open and informed about what they want in bed because they are empowered to do so by their social movement, Fetner wrote.

Additionally, feminists are also more likely to associate with others who identify as feminists, Fetner found. And liberals, Fetner writes, tend to be more sexually generous.

Liberal heterosexual men were more likely to perform oral sex than non-liberal men, study finds. Study 2021. “These men may care about their partners, as expressed by their performance on equality in sexual pleasure,” wrote study author and sociologist Max Stick in The conversation.

Between a combination of communication, sexual liberation and more generous partners, Fetner concluded that despite Senator Cruz’s concerns, feminists are doing just fine.

“Contrary to Cruz’s statements on the subject, feminists have sex as often as non-feminists, and the sex they do have is often loving and pleasurable,” Fetner wrote.
