Killers of the Moon, directed by Martin Scorsese and starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro, based on the true events of the Osage Nation serial murders in 1920s Oklahoma, received a new trailer and photos at CinemaCon 2023.
Scorsese took the stage at CinemaCon 2023 to reveal the movie’s trailer, and said that this will be his sixth movie with DiCaprio, his tenth with De Niro, and his first with both together. He also thanked the Osage Nation for working closely with the team on the film.
While the trailer hasn’t been released to the public yet, Paramount Pictures has shared some images from the movie, which you can see below. Immediately after that, you can check out the footage details as we were present at the Paramount session at CinemaCon.
The show takes its time to show that the Osage Nation were forced to move to what were believed to be the worst lands in Oklahoma. But they soon discover that there is an abundance of oil that allows them to make a great fortune.
This does not sit well with the white men who seem to have ruled this piece of land on them, so DiCaprio’s Ernest Burkhardt and De Niro’s William Hale hatch a plan to infiltrate and marry members of the Osage Nation to legally steal their fortunes.
But things quickly turn violent and people start killing, and this brings Tom White to the attention of actor Jesse Plemons, a federal agent in charge of the case. It also looks like Burkhardt and Hale will end up pitted against each other, for parts of the movie at least, as the story continues.
Killers of the Flower Moon will be shown in cinemas on October 6, 2023, and it also appears that it will run at 3 hours and 26 minutes.
