Not only did the new parents choose a very original name for their little girl, but they publicly displayed it on a large billboard (pictured) for everyone to see.

The new parents have been criticised for the name they decided to give their newborn daughter.

The baby girl’s unique name was displayed on a large billboard outside Intermountain Health’s Bloomin’ Babies Birth Center.

“Welcome to the world Annaly, 7 pounds 10 ounces,” the sign read.

Annaly is Irish and a variation of the female name Annaleigh, meaning ‘light’ or ‘grace’, according to Nice name for baby.

“It’s a perfect choice for parents looking for a unique and timeless name for their daughter,” the website states.

One person said: “That poor kid is going to be bullied mercilessly…”

One joked: “It’s not the traditional way of giving birth, but I guess everyone has their own way.”

“Oh my god, that poor kid,” another person wrote.

“Doomed to be anal forever,” wrote another.

Others suggested similar names that were not spelled so crudely.

“Why not ‘Anna Lee’?” said one commenter.

While some names have stood the test of time, the SSA reported that social media stars have influenced new parents’ name choices more than ever.

Kaeli was the fastest-rising girl’s name last year, jumping 1,692 spots behind YouTube and TikTok influencer Kaeli McEwen, known as Kaeli Mae, who has one million followers and promotes a clean and tidy lifestyle on her account.

The SSA reported that TikTok creator Wyatt Eiden’s three million followers may have contributed to the name Eiden becoming the third-fastest-rising boy’s name in 2023.

Liam has been overwhelmingly popular as a boys name since taking the top spot in 2017, replacing Noah, the number one choice since 2013.

Olivia has remained the most popular girl’s name in the US since 2018, first increasing in popularity following the release of the 2012 TV show ‘Scandal,’ named after lead character Olivia Pope.
