An upcoming documentary will shed light on the mysterious story of a Manhattan housewife and mother of two who claimed to have been abducted by a UFO in the late ’80s.
The docuseries, titled The Manhattan Alien Abduction, tells the story of Linda Napolitano, who is convinced she was abducted from her bedroom in New York on November 30, 1989.
The series attempts to uncover the real story behind the UFO community’s biggest mysteries, with Napolitano, who initially used the pseudonym Linda Cortile, directly involved in the creation of the documentary.
The trailer, which was recently posted online, contains interviews with Napolitano recalling what happened the night she says changed her life, as well as archival footage from the years after the alleged extraterrestrial experience.
“They saw me hanging out of my window,” Napolitano says in the trailer, as images cut between the Brooklyn Bridge and renderings showing a woman in a white nightgown floating above a Manhattan apartment building.

Prominent abduction investigator Budd Hopkins believed her story and began conducting an extensive investigation into Napolitano’s case in February 1991.
“I don’t know why they keep it from the public, but we’re not alone,” says another voice, while someone else declares it “the biggest kidnapping case in the world,” claiming there were 23 witnesses. ‘
Napolitano’s case remains a source of controversy online today, with some questioning the reliability of the story and questioning what evidence is available to support Napolitano’s claims.

He arrived in New York with his then-wife, Carol Rainey, who said she found Napolitano’s story “very believable.”
“She was cheating on Budd,” another woman said, while others said psychosis was to blame.

The article noted that Hopkins reported that he had received a letter from security officials, signed only by Richard and Dan, who claimed to have seen a figure floating in the night sky.
In the note, they allegedly said “we can’t live with ourselves” for not sharing what they saw.
Richard and Dan said they saw three “strange figures” and a “young woman in a white coat” floating through an apartment window and then transported to a UFO.
according to HiggyPopa website dedicated to stories of paranormal activity, it has been suggested that the political figure the bodyguards protected may have been Javier Pérez de Cuéllar, the Secretary-General of the United Nations at the time.
However, he has never confirmed his participation.
The Manhattan Alien Abduction is streaming on Netflix starting October 30.
