You better call the baby Greg! A new mum is being described as ‘iconic’ for tucking into a vegan sausage roll hours after giving birth
A hungry new mum was caught on camera enjoying a special moment with her new bundle of joy — the vegan Greggs sausage roll she snuggled up to just hours after giving birth.
Lottie Adele, 26, from Preston, Lancashire, had just come in after delivering a baby via C-section on Tuesday when she got hungry.
The mother-of-two asked her boyfriend, Luke Adam, to take down Greggs and treat her to a delicious snack.
Loyal Luke rushed over to the Sharoe Green Lane branch of the bakery, and grabbed some sausage rolls and vegan sausage rolls to enjoy.
After returning to the Royal Preston Hospital where his partner was recovering, Luke snapped a sneaky shot of her cuddling the 6lb, 13oz weight while enjoying her delicious treat.

Lottie posted the photo on social media with the playful caption: “When food just doesn’t cut it in the hospital… @GreggsOfficial (4 hours postpartum) will do the trick.”
Lottie, from Preston, Lancashire, said: ‘I had just come back from surgery, and had a C-section. I was starving – all I ate was a little toast.
Then we were really hungry, so I had my friend go across the road to get Greggs.
I don’t even eat meat, it was vegan sausage. It was still good. My boyfriend got four sausage rolls.

Unbeknownst to Lottie, her boyfriend uploaded the snap to social media, catching the attention of the popular bakery chain, who congratulated the new mom.

The new mom said she had no idea the surprise would end up on social media
He brought it in and then I didn’t even know he was taking those pictures. It was a moment just holding my newborn baby.
I didn’t even realize I wanted it and then I saw Greggs across the road and I thought I needed him.
I didn’t realize how hungry I was but when I did feel satisfied, it was amazing.
It was a planned C-section, so I went to Royal Preston Hospital at 8.30am, had a C-section around 9:30am, and then had Greggs at around 11:30am.

Twitter users were delighted with the post and joked that Lottie should call her newborn daughter Greg
The doctors and nurses didn’t say anything about it. I felt guilty that I didn’t eat the lunch they made so we ate them on the fly.
Lottie followed up her message with the comment: “A little girl was born yesterday morning. she’s perfect. So was Greg.
Greggs saw the post they made on their social media toasting the new mom, in which he wrote, “Congratulations. What a beautiful sausage roll.
One person commented, “It definitely will be me one day, 99% sure I want to serve Greggs at my wedding too.”
Another wrote: “I swear she better call baby Greg…”
Someone quipped, “You’ve got crumbs on the baby.”
Another wrote: “Icon.”
