A new ITV show has been thrown into chaos after three contestants were “rushed to hospital” during filming.
99 To Beat, hosted by brothers Adam and Ryan Thomas, will see audience members go head-to-head in a series of physical tasks.
Each contestant on the Squid Games-inspired show will take part in every task to avoid elimination until one star remains standing.
During Tuesday’s shoot, 100 jumpers had to leap into a 20-foot-high hay stack to escape being eliminated, prompting several people to seek medical attention afterward.
While no one was reported to have suffered life-changing injuries, “one man required urgent hospital care after developing an allergic reaction” and “several others were treated at the scene,” according to Sun.

Another man “suffered a head injury after passing out in the bathroom following the challenge,” the publication reported.
A spokesperson for production company 99 To Beat said: ‘A small number of contestants received medical attention after having an adverse reaction to hay while taking part in a game to retrieve sticks from a large haystack.
‘Filming has been temporarily suspended and will resume later this week. The well-being of our employees remains our top priority and our robust health and safety processes are regularly reviewed and evaluated.’
Production company Initial TV, behind shows such as Big Brother, Soccer Aid and Total Wipeout, is hoping to bring 99 To Beat to ITV in the UK.
The next contest is still in production.
Last year it was revealed that Netflix renewed its controversial Squid Game: The Challenge for a second season.
The spin-off is based on the record-breaking Korean drama, featuring the same challenges without the deadly consequences of the original, with games like Red Light, Green Light, Honeycombs, and Hopscotch.
It is one of the largest reality shows in history, with 456 contestants participating from around the world.
And now it is set to return for another season, with recruitment already open for those who want to take part.

Meanwhile, Express Solicitors said two of its clients who were on the programme “suffered injuries including hypothermia and nerve damage…
“after being trapped in painful stress positions for hours in freezing temperatures.”
Express Solicitors boss Daniel Slade said: ‘The contestants thought they were taking part in something fun and the injured did not expect to suffer as they did.
The reality series is based on the hit Korean drama.

The reality competition show features a whopping 456 competitors vying for a $4.56 million prize pool.
‘They have now been left with injuries after spending time trapped in painful stress positions in cold temperatures.

The firm said the injuries occurred when contestants “had to remain motionless for hours in frigid temperatures while filming.”
